Reiki and Spiritual Healing

Reiki and Spiritual Healing

Reiki has been called Universal Life Energy, Qi and Spiritual Energy to name of few. In my years of practicing Reiki, I have come to understand that it is a vital, non-invasive healing modality that blends peacefully, yet powerfully, with other forms of healing.  I have seen amazing transformations in client’s lives in relatively short periods of time by combining Reiki, along with shamanism and the principles of five element theory. My goal is to ultimately restore an individual’s life force, which in turn creates physical and emotional healing.

Although Reiki is commonly noted coming from Japan, its origins date back much further and can be found in the Taoist philosophy of five element theory. In addition, the Taoists were one of the original shamanic societies.  Their aim was to ultimately achieve immortality.  For thousands of years, they studied the forces of nature as well as the qualities of the elements found not only in nature, but within our own bodies. They came to understand that when you are in harmony with nature and refine the quality of the elements then one can maintain vitality, happiness and longevity. Taoism is the same philosophical tradition that has brought Qi-Gong, martial arts and acupuncture to the world.

While this energy can ultimately be accessed by everyone, anyone trained to be a Reiki practitioner has received an energetic transmission which enables them to readily utilize this gentle, yet powerful healing energy. Without this transmission, an individual would need to take on a lengthy meditation practice to obtain a higher vibrational state in order to access this energy. Reiki empowerments and training enables one to heal the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels of all living things.

Because this healing energy cannot be seen, Reiki has been met with skepticism.  However, western medicine is gradually accepting Reiki as a healing modality. Hospitals are beginning to establish programs which allow Reiki practitioners to treat their patients even though they’re still somewhat reluctant to promote the idea that Reiki may cure illnesses. The healing benefits of Reiki, however, are now being studied by a branch of the National Institute of Health-NCCAM.

Reiki Energy Promotes:

  • The releasing of energy blocks
  • A strong sense of well-being
  • Reduction of Pain
  • Increased energy levels
  • Maintenance of good health
  • Increased relaxation and sleep
  • Meditative states
  • Heightened awareness and intuition

During treatment, the Reiki recipient may experience enhanced dream states, receive symbolic information, or, in some, spontaneously recall past lives. The Reiki practitioner may also receive healing information about the recipient during the session. Reiki recipients may also experience unusual events in everyday life that lead to their healing.  Information comes in a way that captures the individual’s attention. This leads to insight of the core issues of ones’ emotional wounds and pain.  Once understanding is gained, pain and suffering diminishes if not completely dissipates.  The Reiki healing treatment is relaxing and promotes a sense of blissful peace that can last for days after the treatment.
